WOMEN ON FIRE
Hello, welcome to Women on Fire. Welcome to the place that addresses the fire, that unsinkable vital force of life bubbling away in each of us. We're interested in fostering and nourishing it. We'd like to encourage some wild and reckless expression of free-running womanly wisdom and joy. Something that doesn't need the approval of others nor the permission of anyone's inner, entirely self-constructed, judge. We want to encourage you to find, to live and to love the BIG YOU.
Women on Fire is designed to link up the women of the world who make brilliant things happen. It promotes women as decision makers, especially in the many areas that have a direct effect on the wellbeing of all life on earth. It aims to embolden, uplift, inform and inspire women in all circumstances to live their power - but without the loss of lovely, feminine tenderness. Does that appeal?
Whilst many of the women from whom we draw inspiration are effective on a big scale, every woman is consequential. It doesn't matter how large or small the cluster of friends, colleagues, family or social environment. Living free of the fear of competition among women or of one's own inadequacies is good for each woman and for society too. Why don't we encourage each other more? Why don't we celebrate each other's unique womanliness? Why not support other women joyously, even playfully?
Although it may appear that we have not been too active recently, Judith has been working in an intensely focused way with small groups of women and men to unravel habits, beliefs and practices that apparently limit our personal and collective potential. Of course this is ongoing work. But already the effects on the lives of participants, their relationships, how they work and what they bring to the world, have been remarkable in a very positive way.
How to share this with more people? We don't know. How to make Women on Fire a vigorous platform for debate and a resource for women? We don't know. But perhaps you do. We're making space for all that's not quite clear in your mind, to frustrations, limitations, outrages....everything that seems not to have a field of expression or an outlet. We're adopting an unusual tactic. Bring only questions. About anything. And you don't have to prepare....
We'd love to see you at one of our events. They're not just for women but they all address the feminine, receptive side of men and women that includes instinct and intuition, the qualites of listening, of care and of nourishment.
Why women on fire and not men?
Because women as decision makers constitute our one underused resource in addressing all the crises of our time: ecological, economic, social and spiritual. We want to encourage women to develop self-confidence without feeling challenged by patriarchal certainties. We want to offer instinctual wisdom as a partner to reason, and wise women to accompany wise men. See LETTER TO MEN and Q & A.
Who's running Women on Fire?
The project began with shaman/visionary/healer/changemaker Judith Seelig. Yeah, that's a long list of credits but how she functions is so unusual and so changeably varied that it's hard to encapsulate. The translation of vision into reality is in the hands of Lucia Bardoul. Lucia trained as an accountant, spent many years in business and now provides gentle guidance and razor-sharp insight into people's career potential. Everyone's time and resources are gifted. We pay professionals for all the techie stuff. And we have help from others who gift time, resources and money too.
All this grew out of stillness, and it is that which makes Women on Fire really different. All action arising out of the stillness of non-action. The active masculine principle emerging from the receptive feminine. Doing born of being. Sometimes it might look like we're doing things rather slowly. We're growing deep roots. Strong foundations.
Having the vision held by a shaman makes us unusual, if not unique. This is someone who holds the project steady in times of turbulence and true to course when the wind changes. You might be confused by the term shamanism. If you'd like to read more see THE SHAMAN EXPLAINS
Please keep dropping by. Tell us what you're doing or being. We would love to know.
